Maria Diaz is a special educator by training. Through her tenure, she has focused her instruction on working with students with reading difficulties and students with emotional difficulties. She has taught in both urban and suburban public schools and has a passion for giving children the gift of literacy. Maria is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College (A.B., Sociology), the City College of New York (M.S. Ed, Bilingual, Childhood, and Special Education) and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Ed. M., Language and Literacy). Maria tutors students with dyslexia using a variety of structured literacy programs and focuses on trauma-informed practices through her teaching.
