Dr. Yaacov Petscher is an Associate Director at the Florida Center for Reading Research and the Director of the Quantitative Methodology and Innovative Division, at Florida State University. He is a Deputy Director for the National Center on Improving Literacy, and leads the center’s work on screening and identification of reading difficulties. Dr. Petscher’s work focuses on the identification of at-risk readers, assessment, and the study of individual differences in reading using complex methodologies. He has over 100 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and technical reports. He served as an external evaluator and consultant for the National Center on Intensive Interventions and National Center for Systematic Improvement. He co-developed the computer adaptive K-12 Reading Assessment for Prescriptive Instructional Data (RAPID) and the developed the Earlier Assessment for Reading Success (EARS) application. Dr. Petscher has been a PI or co-PI on 22 state and federal grants and contracts totaling over $70 million.
