Steve Wilkins has been the Head of Carroll School in Lincoln MA since 2005. He holds a Master's Degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and completed doctoral work at The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to Carroll School, Steve was Head of Proctor Academy (NH) and Director of Jemicy School (MD). His work focuses on students with language based learning difficulties, such as dyslexia. He is particularly focused on operationalizing the notion of giving each child what she or he most needs. This leads into focused interventions: academic, cognitive, and social-emotional. He has led a research collaborative between Carroll and MIT with Dr. John Gabrieli which seeks to improve student outcomes through a combination of structured language and cognitive interventions.
