Description

Morphemes, the meaning units within words, such as prefixes, suffixes, base words, and roots, provide strategies for students to acquire fluent decoding and spelling of polysyllabic words and enhanced vocabulary. These morphemes differ based on word origin (Anglo-Saxon, Latin, or Greek). Frameworks for instruction, along with numerous instructional strategies and activities are presented.
