S8 - Entrepreneurship & Dyslexia: Examining the Possibilities

Oct 29, 2016 9:15am ‐ Oct 29, 2016 10:15am

Standard: $20.00

Description

Entrepreneurship holds great potential for people with dyslexia, and recent studies have identified the high incidence of dyslexic entrepreneurs. Yet, for many students with dyslexia, school is often overwhelming, and self-esteem and self-confidence are negatively impacted. During this presentation, we will discuss research findings on the self-efficacy perceptions and entrepreneurial intent of middle and high school students with dyslexia and offer suggestions for how we might create curricula in schools to support those students who might consider entrepreneurship as a career path.
