Description

This presentation provides an overview of how written expression for dyslexic students may be strengthened through the framework of the story analysis approach of The Secret Language of Stories (SLOS). This approach links Executive Function skills to the various stages of the writing process, enhances language processing skills and comprehension for students of all ages. Teachers will leave with specific activities and resources they may use for focusing attention, improving the organization of thoughts/feelings, teaching planning/previewing/reviewing, creating lasting mental images, and scaffolding writing strategies across ability levels.
