This interactive presentation will demonstrate evidence-based instructional practices for teaching advanced reading-comprehension strategies to dyslexic adolescents who have previously received significant remedial instruction in language structure, syllable patterns, and basic comprehension skills. Using selections from authentic text as the content to simulate instruction, participants will learn how to help students build on learned skills, engage with complex text, and apply comprehension strategies for reading in the upper grades of high school and college.
