Description

65 years after its founding, IDA still embraces the work of its pioneers, especially that of Samuel Torrey Orton and Anna Gillingham. Anna Gillingham said 'My two years as Research Associate in the study of the Language Function with Samuel T. Orton have become one of the outstanding experiences of my life. Contact with his profound knowledge of neurology, always checked by scientific caution, set a criterion for the evaluation of my own procedures never to be forgotten (A. Gillingham & B. Stillman, 1956). This session uses biographical information and photos to highlight the pioneers in the field of dyslexia, and the growth of the IDA.
