The purpose for professional collaboration is to develop hypotheses about a learner’s profile in order to design effective interventions. Further, it helps us to understand students who do not respond to well designed classroom instruction. Improved student outcomes result from a school-wide model for balanced assessment that focuses on data-based decisions for differentiated instruction. Specifically, this design utilizes the role of the special educator with general educators in the use of a well-developed student profile, central to instructional applications across tiers.
