This workshop was developed in response to the passage of dyslexia legislation in New Jersey that requires teachers to screen students suspected of having dyslexia or other reading disorders. Screening is a critical step in a Response to Intervention model. Workshop participants will learn about and practice using the most frequently used screeners, such as Dibels Next, The Dyslexia Screening Test, and Texas Primary Reading Inventory. The advantages/disadvantages of each in terms of identifying students with dyslexia will be explored.
