Oct 30, 2015 12:00am ‐ Oct 30, 2015 12:00am

Description

Assistive technology tools are invaluable in making reading and writing more accessible so that students with dyslexia can access and produce intellectually appropriate written text, without many of the burdens of unassisted reading and writing. Text-to-speech and dictation tools will be presented with both a practical and a pedagogical perspective. Attendees be given guidance in teaching students what tools are available and useful, when they are useful (in what contexts and for what purposes), how to a use them, and how to advocate for their assistive technology needs.
