F22 - Making Lasting Change: How One District Used Implementation Science to Change Literacy Outcomes for All Students

Oct 30, 2015 12:00am ‐ Oct 30, 2015 12:00am

Description

Wake County Public Schools’ data showed deficits in K-2 literacy skills, stagnant 3rd grade reading scores and a persistent achievement gap. Using implementation science, the district focused on foundational literacy and established a district-wide instructional plan. This session will share disaggregated data and digital support resources as well as discuss planning stages, logistical steps, and lessons learned by the interdisciplinary implementation team over a multi-year rollout. Discussion will emphasize the importance of tight instructional alignment and community engagement.
