Description

This session will describe the building of a coalition among the dyslexia advocacy community. Over a six-month period, the dyslexia advocacy community consisting of the Alabama Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, Decoding Dyslexia Alabama, Alabama Scottish Rite, Round Table Solutions, Alabama Game Changers, and others secured legislative support for the Alabama Dyslexia Bill of Rights. These efforts led to meetings with the Alabama Department of Education and collaborative work to place the key components of the Dyslexia Bill of Rights into the Alabama Administrative Code.
