SU5 - Writing Proficiency for Dyslexic Native and Non-native Speakers: A Winner With MSML Strategies!

Nov 10, 2019 8:30am ‐ Nov 10, 2019 9:30am

Standard: $20.00

Description

Participants learn in simulations how to implement research-evidenced multisensory structured metacognitive (MSML) practices to improve writing skills of native and non-native speakers with dyslexia or related disabilities in Grades 2–12. Narrative and expository writing is explored in various hands-on tasks addressing challenges of sentence, paragraph, and whole-text structures . Assessment practices for classroom use are included. Adaptations for non-native speakers and a resource packet allow for seamless integration of writing strategies.

Elke Schneider and Andrea Kulmhofer-Bommer have no relevant financial or nonfinancial relationships to disclose.
