Participants will practice strategies that break down the process of revision into manageable steps to bring voice, color, and depth to their own writing. Participants will practice drawing on the elements that good writers use—word choice, figurative language, tone, and sentence variation, for example—and applying these same elements to their own writing during the process of revision. The lessons can serve as models for teachers to create their own lessons that encourage better revision strategies for young writers who say, “I’m done!”
